Chiara Cordelli is welcomed at the LIER-FYT from September 1st to December 31st 2021.
Chiara Cordelli is associate professor in the Department of Political Science at the University of Chicago. She works on a variety of topics within the Anglo-American tradition of social and political analytic philosophy, including questions of distributive justice, political legitimacy, normative defenses of the state, and the ethics of philanthropy and assistance. She is the author of The Privatized State (Princeton University Press, 2020) and the co-editor of Philanthropy in Democratic Societies (University of Chicago Press, 2016). Her written contributions have appeared in international journals such as the American Political Science Review, Ethics, the Journal of Political Philosophy, Political Theory, the Journal of Politics, the British Journal of Political Science and the Critical Review of Social and Political Philosophy, among others.

Chiara Cordelli est professeure associée au Département de science politique à l'université de Chicago. Elle travaille sur divers sujets dans la tradition anglo-américaine de philosophie analytique sociale et politique, en traitant notamment les questions de la justice de répartition, la légitimité politique, les défenses normatives de l'État et l'éthique de la philanthropie et de l'entraide. Elle est l'auteure de The Privatized State (Princeton University Press, 2020) et la co-éditrice de Philanthropy in Democratic Societies (University of Chicago Press, 2016). Ses contributions écrites ont figuré dans des journaux internationaux tels que l'American Political Science Review, Ethics, le Journal of Political Philosophy, Political Theory, le Journal of Politics, le British Journal of Political Science et la Critical Review of Social and Political Philosophy, entre autres.
